Localized itching with no rash

Posted By Helen (Ohio) on 10/27/2014

I have been itching mostly when idle on my right thigh (upper part) There is no rash, no sign of bites or discoloration. It itches, tingles and even burns. This has been going on for over a year. It doesn't happen every day, about 2 or 3 times a week. There is no sign on the skin, it looks exactly the same as my left thigh which doesn't itch. Does anyone please have any idea what's going on and it there are any remedies? Thank you kindly.

Helen: Do a closer examination of the area w/ a strong magnifying glass as this could be what's now called Morgellons disease. Check out Morgellons on YouTube to help further identify.

Helen, I had something like that. I traced it to something I was eating that the body didn't like. So maybe you can play detective and find out if it comes after eating or drinking a certain item.

Hi Helen. I am not sure what this could be, as it could be many different things.

Here is something I do on my self and family members when I have or they have an itch. I simply rub some Hand Sanitizer on that spot almost always stops the itch in a few minutes. I actually use Germ-X, others should work too. Seems too simple, but this has worked better than any thing else I have tried.
