Laryngitis and advice for vocal pain rawness

Posted By Scattergirl (San Francisco, Ca) on 12/29/2010

I've been reading with interest all of the posts about Apple Cider Vinegar. I wondered if anyone has had success with that or any other treatment for vocal pain/rawness in the back of the throat. I have had this for 6 months and I am a teacher, so it's hard, but even when I rest my voice the rawness and easily fatigued voice does not go away. It started with a bout of laryngitis this summer. The ENTs best guess right now is silent acid reflux, but I tried Prilosec and it did horrible things to my digestive system. Anyone out there with vocal symptoms like mine who has found a natural remedy? Thanks

I tried the ACV (1 and a half tsp. ) mixed with apple juice, I also take papaya enzymes after I eat and it has helped my acid reflux alot.

Thanks, Laulee. Did you have vocal symptoms from acid reflux? I'm just wondering if that's what this really is, as I don't feel any acid.
