Kittens ringworm and remedies

My husband and I recently began our first animal fostering experience with 3 3 week old kittens. A week and a half later, we are battling ringworm. I am a complete germaphobe and I'm kinda freaking out about my family getting the fungus. I'm trying to be proactive about cleaning, sanitizing, hand washing, etc. And the cats have been quarantined. I bought some redonkulously expensive shampoo and cream that the vet prescribed/sold and a week after diagnosis, one of the cats scaly mess peeled away tonight and left behind some pink skin, instead of the crusty yellowy stuff she had... The other cat with bad RW doesn't seem to have gotten worse, but I'm not noticing outstanding improvement either. The one that didn't have any at the vet last week now has one under her chin and a tiny one on her paw.

I have read a lot... A LOT of info about RW and various treatments in the last few days, and I'm reading that more often than not, it's an oil/homeopathic route that clears it faster than anything else. So here are my questions.

1. Safe for kittens? They are around 12-14 ounces, and will be entering their estimated 5th week of life on the earth Thursday. (or at least Thursday was when I got them, so that's when I'm estimating from) If yes- how much, how often, how applied? I know no tea tree oil, but what else?

2. Safe for toddlers? I have an almost 3 year old, and I need a good treatment that will not hurt him.

3. What are the dilution guidelines with these oils?

I think those are all the questions I have, for now! Thanks in advance!

I rescued a kitty, less than 2 lbs, who was infested with ringworm. After nine weeks of dipping her in a dip from the vets, with no results, I finally gave up and started spraying her and everyone else in the family, including our dog and grandbaby, with Grapefruit Seed Extract, GSE by Nutribiotic, in water. You can google it to come up with the correct dosage, but I think it was 25 drops in a pint of water, placed in a spray bottle. I couldn't believe my good fortune!! It absolutely worked!!

Katiebug314, at such a young age, it appears the kittens could use the addition of Colostrum in their milk so as to build their immunity.
