Just got back from dermatologist and have rosacea and seborrhoeic dermatitisPosted By Jma (New York) on 03/12/2014
Hello All, Ted....anyone:
Well I just got back from the dermatologist and she looked at my face and said I had rosacea and SD. I thought I just had rosacea! ? Lucky me. Lucky all of us who have both. lol. I'm stressed so I'm trying to be funny.
Anyway, I started crying at the office. They didn't know what to do with me?! ? I guess I got overwhelmed.
Long story short. Rosacea started Feb 2013 and stayed for a month and left. Great skin all through April-Feb 2014. Then Feb 2014 started and HELLLLOOOO rosacea I haven't seen you in a while? I treated the rosacea naturally, no RX the first time. But now I have SD and I know I had it the first time because I remember the flakes near and in my scalp.
The dermatologist was super fast to write me 100000 RX's. Not really 10000 but she wanted to put me on antibiotics and I was like H&LL NO! I CAN'T DO THEM. ESPECIALLY FOR LONG PERIODS.
She gave me Sumaxin Wash, she said it was a sulphur wash. Ok, I like sulphur with a f or a ph....lol. She also gave me metro-cream (which I won;t take) and Loprox shampoo (which I won't take because selsun blue and my organic TTO shampoo/ conditioner seem to be working). She tired to give me an oral anti-imflammatory which is a low anti-biotic and I said no. It goes on and on...
Anyway, I'm looking for some feedback and support. I am feeling down, confused and defeated. What should I do first? Should I get a second opinion? Does anyone have both? How do you treat one and the other? Should I take meds or do the holistic route?
I also made her take a skin sample for mites! I have 2 stitches. Thank you.

Re the Seborrhoeic Dermatitis...
A good Wikipedia article on likely cause...a fungus... and remedies in that article. Wikipedia is rarely given to talking alternative remedies but does so in that article including an endorsement by Germany's Commission E in stating that Viola Tricolor is effective. The fungus is Malaseizia. The Wiki article even explains WHAT is going on...the Wiki writer must have been an Earth Clinic Poster. Bill or Ted behind the scenes?
