Itching After Indoor Pool Swim

Posted By Brenda (Ontario, Canada) on 03/26/2025

Does anyone have a solution for intense itching after swimming in an indoor pool? I go swimming twice weekly as therapy for back and leg pain and within 5 minutes my skin starts itching. My skin has been dry for decades and I have been in pools in the past with no issues but have recently started swimming again and have encountered this problem. Maybe more chemicals? Have tried coconut oil, baking soda, other creams and not much relief. Stopping swimming seems the only solution? Any suggestions? Thx.

I shower and use soap to wash after swimming. Then apply some kind of good dry skin cream.

Thanks. I do shower after and have tried various itchy skin creams including Eucarin and Tri-swim. I have done detox baths with baking soda and apple cider vinegar. I have increased my Vitamin C and spray my body with Vitamin C powder mixed with water. Helps a bit but still intense itching.

See a NAET practitioner. He will identify and eliminate the cause of itching.
Take homeopathic remedies for skin itching. Try to find the one that matches your circumstances.
