My guess is yes! Definitely seems like it is considering how dermatologists/doctors treat patients who present symptoms of it! I literally had a dermatologist who acted terrified of coming closer than 5ft away from me after his medical assistant told him my symptoms. Never have I seen a dermatologist who refused to touch or look at my skin and sat across the room the entire appointment. And then when I left the room I saw/heard him shuffle around quickly so I creeped around the corner and watched him grab gloves and a cavicide wipe to wipe the chair I sat in down?!? A DOCTOR! Taking the time to sanitize/clean something?! I've worked in the medical field for 11 years and that is NOT EVER HEARD OF. I think he knew exactly what this disease is but wouldn't actually tell me/treat me for it. Instead he just through a bunch of steroid creams at me hoping I'd leave and not come back.
