barrets esophagus and acid reflux

I along with my father suffer from heartburn. I'm 60 and he's passed away. I had terrible pains in my chest for years but thought that was the way it was. Went on a flight, that night had great thirst, drank oj in the am and had a bad esophogal rupture, nearly fatal. Cauterized and ok. Put on nexium, full fealing, then protonix about 8 years ago. Then got rocky mtn. spotted fever. At first not diagnosed even though I'd seen the red bullseye. Thought it was lymes but that was negative. Finally put on antibiotics which made me extremely ill, nausea etc. Still had problems and went through another round. Terrible nausea. This went on for about 1 1/2 years and still current. At some point I became extremely nauseated by protonix and all other similar drugs. I'd rather take a chance on dying from barrets than live like that. Any alternatives to nexium, protonix, prevacid, kapidex? Any info greatly appreciated. My gastro dr. says there's no other way to go. Thanks

Hi John, You could try to coat your esophagus by taking a intestinal powder that contains L-Glutamine, N-Acetyl D-Glucosamine, Gamma Oryzanol, Cranesbill Root, Ginger Root (Zingiber officinale), Marigold Flower and Marshmallow Root with the scoop there and a glass of water. You could find this powder at Whole Foods. Also, for softening of esophagus try MSM, buy it at Whole foods. Try to drink fltered or baby water and keep drinking a lot, a gallon a day. B vitamins may help. Also, elevate your bed 6-8 inches, where your head is. Try to buy at Whole Foods probiotics, __________, and take a half pack in the morning and and half in the evening with a little bit of water to just make a solution. May also take a pill probiotics. Check your gallbladder, do a HIDA scan and ultrasound and on the HIDA scan see if your ejection rate is above 50-60%. If so, your gallbladder may be overactive and it may cause lots of gallbladder reflux. Also try herb pills like Bee Propolis, Cod Liver Oil or Fish Oil, Biotin; they are all natural, buy them at the Health food Store, like Whole Foods, cause you do not know what is in the other pills sold at the regular pharmacies. No coffee, cigarettes, juices, spicy, fried, acidic and fast food! Try to eat soft lean meats like chicken, rice, potatoes and FISH! Hope it works for you.
