I have a question that is never answered in herpes remedy sections. What if you have HSV-1 (facial cold sore virus) in your genital region? You don't have genital herpes (HSV-2), but your sores appear only down there (the only way you can get this is from someone with a cold sore performing oral sex). Would you then follow the recommendations for cold sores or genital herpes? Thanks!

You try taking L-Lysine 500 mg two times a day for a week to see improvement. I am very curious is this HSV is region specific, it is very predominant in North America. You can hardly find a person with Cold Sores in India, Malaysia, Singapore, Gulf.

I had a breakout of HSV 1 below the 'belt line' also. That was over 2 years ago. They say once you have had a breakout it should not reoccur again.
A breakout can happen from stress among other things. I was married to a guy who used to get cold sores and my current bf's x wife gets cold sores. So I believe it was just in my system and from major stress I had a breakout.
