I am dealing with serious non prescribed medication abuse

Addiction: I am dealing with a very serious, non prescribed medication abuse and withdrawal that I can't really find much about on the web. My boyfriend is getting clean from adderoll, typically he used between 100- 200 mg a day of the medication for the last 10 years, increasing each year.... He is now ready to come clean. Other than the obvious healthy eating, exercise, B-12 and ginseng, got any remedies. HELP! I really love him! I've started with Apple cider vin drink and garlic to get him cleaned out....

What else can he try?

I would suggest calcium bentonite clay taken internally. This attracts all toxins while it travels through your intestines. I've also heard great things about soaking in a bathtub of clay water to draw toxins out via the skin. I would keep drinking the ACV to help balance the ph. I hope he feels better soon!

milk thistle will help with his liver & detox.. also NAC N-acetyl cysteine is often used as a detox for drugs, like cocaine or tylenol toxicity..(acetoaminophen)

It helps protect the liver as well..more info... http://www.raysahelian.com/acetylcysteine.html

It is recommended that it be taken with a large dose of vitamin C.

Hi Kate,

That's fantastic that he's now willing to come clean! If you work together it makes it easier. In addition to the recommendations by fellow EC'ers, start by adding in lots of greens. They will help to alkalinize his body. That will help re-balance him. Also, remember the liver loves bitter so, dandelion greens, broccoli rabe, collard greens in addition to milk thistle. If you can start making green juices that will help immensely. As he detoxes, he may experience flu-like symptoms which can be difficult to cope with but remind him that we have to go through those to get to the other side- back to our true health. You can slow down if it gets to be too much but work to eat foods "close to the earth" which is how I like to think of it. Food is medicine and eating right can heal the body.

I wish you the very best and the strength to endure.
Lisa
