Hypothyroid Remedy Help Needed

Posted By Jackie (Lexington, Kentucky) on 06/02/2008

Hello, this post is for anyone who can help. I am 39yr old female with 3 kids. After my last at age 35, I was diagnosed hypothyroidism. All kinds of symptoms so here goes--acne-itchy acne, hair loss due to fungus scalp, dry skin, irritability, fatigue, varicose veins-SHEW!!!! I'm falling apart to be so young. My doc put me on synthroid-helped some not much. I still feel things aren't near where they should be-even though my TSH is 2.1. Any suggestions as to how I can help myself without a DOCTOR? Thanks.

Hi Mom with the low thyroid problem. Jump start that thyroid with kelp (for iodine & other nutrients) and a good stress tablet mealtimes & bedtime (4 x per day). Stress tabs are mainly B complex with vitamins C & E. If you find yourself getting hyper or nervous & fidgety after a week or two, go have your thyroid bloodwork checked and go home leaving off thyroid med. and cutting stress tabs to one per day until you get the report. If its still low, resume the above. If you are feeling better from decrease and bloodwork is normal range, continue kelp and stress tabs xl/d. If you start feeling sluggish again, step the stress tabs up and improve your eating habits by leaving off all carbonated beverages and other junk foods.
