Husband with sudden onset of eye pain and vision issues

Posted By Joanne (Philadelphia) on 07/31/2014

Was hoping someone might have some advice regarding my husband's eyes.

Symptoms: Sudden onset in 24 hr. period started yesterday afternoon, eye pain felts like something in it (but Dr.found nothing), burning, pain over entire eyeball area, hurts to move eyes, light sensitivity, started in right eye and a couple hours later also in left eye. He has calcium deposits in cornea, but that may be normal for his age (70) or result of gouty arthritis. He also has renal problems linked to gouty arthritis (has had g.a. for at least 30 years.) Has VERY BIG tophi in joints, huge ones in knees and elbows. Walking hurts. Also has type 2 diabetes, controlled fairly well. No insulin, just diet. Constant rashes on arms, neck and trunk, which come and go. Has been taking Apple cider vinegar for about 3 months. Started gelatin, but only for a few days, not soon enough to do anything. Had bypass surgery a few yrs. ago. Takes lots of meds. plus some supplements. BP is usually higher than normal, but not usually extremely high.

Has not had any infections recently that we know of. I'm wondering if Colloidal Silver would help. Thank you so much in advance.

@Joanne: I would recommend first, Magnet Therapy. Placing a simple refrigerator magnet over the eye for 30 min 2x daily should dramatically reduce the pain & inflammation. Do not be afraid and search this therapy if it sounds scary to you. I have been using much stronger magnets over my eyes for several yrs now w/ only beneficial results.

Next, stop by your (preferably local health food store) or pharmacy section of retail store for products designed specifically for eye health. There are a number of very beneficial nutrients for eye support that will definitely help.

Hello Joanne,

About your husband's eye pain onset...

You ask if colloidal silver could help. Well, if the problem is an infection, yes. Two drops in each eye twice daily for no more than three days. If it's an infection he'll get quick relief...at least that's the way its worked with me over the years.

Next; until you asked about CS at the end of your post, I'd not though of infection by your description. Rather I'd thought of burning eyes being more related to acidic condition ... so I'd try taking a half teaspoon of baking soda in half glass of water (dissolved of course), and applying on top of closed eyes the liquid by way of a white paper towel. Apply once and wipe clean. Sometimes acidic residue can accumulate around eye. Now re apply the liquid for a second baking soda application. And in three minutes do it again.

If this is an acid problem, he'll get almost instant relief. EVEN if the pain feels like its deep in eye...it still could be an acid problem. (Don't waste the remainder of the baking soda liquid...drink it.)
