Husband has bad body aches and long time virus

REMEDIES NEEDED FOR (flu like) BODY ACHES: My Husband has had bad body aches for almost 3 weeks now... but he doesn't have a cough of stuffy sinus like when you have the flu... He went to the Dr (they were no help - go figure!)... and they gave him some Augmentin and he broke out with a serious rash (probably an allergic reaction)... so he quit taking it. Does anyone know what he can do to get rid of the body aches... and rash? I Love Earth Clinic... Thanks So Much!!

Hi Katia,

If you think your husband's problem is viral I would probably go with L-lysine 2000 mgm mealtime & bedtime for several days and then slow down to 1000 mgm. Linus Paulings recommended 3-6 grams of l-lysine and the same amount of Vitamin C daily to keep the cardiovascular system healthy. Start the vitamin C the same time you start the l-lysine but the vitamin C is utilized better if it is taken more often while awake instead of several grams at one time. You will probably be ok as long as you don't exceed l0 grams of vitamin C daily. Beyond that you can expect some gastric irritation.

Hi again Katia,

I forgot to ask you if your husband has had any tickbites because some of the tick borne diseases start off with flu like symptoms? If so he might consider having blood tests for these!

Hi Katia - If he has the flu, he can try soaking in the bath for 20-30 minutes with 1/2-1 cup of ACV added to it. He can soak as long as he wants and as often as he likes. He might want to have some water with him while soaking to drink to ward off dehydration. The ACV may lessen the duration of the flu or so I am told. Anyway, if he wants to soak in a hot bath without ACV, I found this to be helpful also.

Katia, I have a question for you. Is your husband is taking any medication he has not taken before? If he is, he may be taking a medication that causes Flu Syndrome which is actually a side effect of some medications. I learned about this the hard way and took over a month to figure out why I kept getting sick. I experienced muscle and joint pain as well as headaches. I also had a fever. The symptoms started a few days after I began a new medication it. I was sick 5-6 days a week and couldn't even sleep on 2+ nights out of each week. It was awful. My husband is the one who found that Flu Syndrome is a side effect for the med I was taking. We both had read the printout from the drugstore, but it listed no side effects like the flu. Come to find out, my husband did find Flu Syndrome IS listed as a side effect in technical documentation but not the printout because such a small percentage of people developed Flu Syndrome (as well as some other side effects) in the clinical trials from the drug company. I stopped taking the medication and was 100% better the next day.

Good Luck!
Sherri

For about a week, my right arm, especially the upper shoulder area was killing me with pain. I could not sleep because of it, nor could I rotate my arm to put on a jacket or even touch my back with my right hand. Nights were spent with pain radiating up and down my arm. I'd had this before and it disappeared with a low carb diet which I'd recently been somewhat lax with keeping. Became stricter on the diet but the pain persisted. I tried everything from ACV to cortizone cream. One day I was guided to try the MAGNESIUM OIL sitting in my bathroom. Within 5 minutes of spraying it on my upper & lower arm, the pain was gone and I could rotate my shoulder. Did some reasearch on the magnesium oil and found it is great for bodily pain. I've started including 2 sprays In my coconut oil for my nightly rub-down. It seems the body only absorbs what it needs. I'm so glad I bought the magnesium oil after reading another poster's comments. Thanks, earth clinic - Again, I'm one happy camper!
