Dear Rachael,
I am guessing the cod liver didn't cause the bleeding but the constipation did.
If surgery was very recently, the anesthesia and medications taken after surgery can really slow down the system and cause constipation.
The easiest thing to do would be to use Epsom Salt from the pharmacy. There are directions on the package for relieving constipation.
You might look in to serrapeptase to naturally dissolve the adhesions.
