How to treat pre ulcerous mouth bump

Posted By Tg (Alabama, US) on 09/05/2014

I have a bump/lump on the roof of my mouth. It is not ulcerated but is sore. I have had these in the past and they eventually do ulcerate and get very painful. Any idea what it could be or how to manage it? No pimple-like white bump or redness, just a sore lump.

Dear Tg,

If you have activated charcoal you can try that. Charcoal tablets are great for this - hold a charcoal tablet onto the spot until it dissolves. Repeat a couple of times during the day. If you have charcoal powder, put 1/4 teaspoon into a little piece of paper towel and hold it on the spot for 20 minutes.

If you have sage and thyme in your spice cabinet, mix 1/8th teaspoon of each into a piece of paper towel and hold it onto the spot for 20 minutes a few times a day. If you only have sage or thyme, just use 1/4 teaspoon of one of them.

Clove essential oil, one drop, on the spot may do the trick if you have that on hand.

Hopefully one of those will work for you!
