Posted By Glassart42 (Vista, Ca) on 03/13/2012

I am having same terrible menstrual issues, dr wants me to do all kinds of hormone stuff or procedures. I want to do natural. I need to know if you take the Apple Cider Vinegar continuously every day of the month or just when you are having the heavy period? I will try this. I am 47 and just buying time till menopause. Please explain, thanks so much.

Hi - I too was suffering from awful menstrual cramps/heavy flow, but read online (i think it was here at EC) the benefits of Blackstrap Molasses.

I took a full tablespoon washed down with a gulp of filtered water as soon as the pain kicked in, and it greatly reduced the pain in under an hour. I continued taking 1 tablespoon 3 times per day, just randomly, and my period actually went away completely after 4 days! Mine is usually hell for 6 days. I have done this for 2 months now and won't ever stop. So cheap and it WORKS. Good luck.

Rebecca, I've had a long period for almost a month. Prior to that I've been irregular because I'm perimenopausal so sometimes I'll go 70 days without a period and then have one that lasts 5 days but usually ends in 7-10 days. But this one has lasted so long and at times it's been a bit heavy but not too bad. I started taking organic unsulfured black strap molasses, 1 tablespoon two times a day and while it seems like the flow has lightened since taking it, it's been 7.5 days and I still have my period. Do you think if I increase the doseage to 3x a day that it will work? Did you start with 1 tablespoon 3x a day? Thanks!

Hi, To reduce/ stop flow take minimum 3 table spoons of non sulpher organic black strap molasses - if that doesn't seem to work well enough take more- make sure you drink lots of water. Also 1 tablespoon of organic apple cider vinegar in a small glass of water (drink through a straw) taken as required to stop the flow is amazing taken on it's own or inconjunction with the Bsm.
