How Can I Lower Triglycerides?

Any advice on how to lower the triglycerides. I don't want a how to lower cholesterol advice. I want something aimed at triglycerides. Triglycerides have always been connected to heart disease but I generally ignore it. Many of us are aware of the myths on cholesterol. The more important impact of triglycerides would be on developing type 2 diabetes. If there is too much triglycerides, it supposedly could interfere with leptin signaling.

My blood sugar is 97. I didn't eat for at least 14 hours before I took the test so I assume that is fasting level. It has been said that people below 90 have 3X less diabetes than people above 95. I just want to take some preventative measures. These tests are not a good barometer in predicting who will get it. I don't currently have diabetes. I am 60.

My triglycerides is measured at 210. Normal is 0 to 200. It may also impact eye sight especially floaters etc. It may also impact brain fog also. The only thing I know is that krill fish oil seems like the best thing. I am currently taking 1000 mg every day with fat. I am planning on increasing that to 2000 mg or 3000 mg per day.

Any other ideas? btw nutritionfacts.org has an interesting video on "What causes insulin resistance". It discusses "intramyocellular lipids accumulation". I ran across adiponectin as a supplement that may reduce it. Anybody experiment with this for diabetes?

Try niacin time release. It brought down my level from 500 to normal range within a few months.

I would definitely add some Chromium to that Niacin to increase the glucose metabolism which in turn reduces the formation of triglycerides.

Carnitine is also effective in reducing 3glycerides. The coenzymes ALA, CoQ10, and Pantethine crank up metabolism and energy.

Tyrosine, Quercetin, and DMG also aid in energy production.

From the foodstuff category: ACV, Kelp, and perhaps Ginger/Cayenne.
