I was so surprised to see your post as I too have had a purplish line or area above the half moons in all ten nails, actually for about a year and a half. Additionally, the horizontal "dip" or bump appeared about 6 months ago at the base of only my thumbnails. It took several weeks for that dip to travel to the outer edge of those nails, and disappear. Weird!

I do not take Nexium, but do take asthma and hypertension meds, and a mighty handful of various supplements - and have for decades. I'm not much for allopathic medicine, having worked in the field for many years, but finally did ask a physician I respect about the situation last month. He had never seen it, and thought it looked vascular in origin (I kind of agree). I do not have any pain, numbness, tingling, etc. as you report.

For the few years prior to this phenomenon, I had been taking about a tablespoon of 15 ppm colloidal silver a day (make my own). In the unlikely event that this was a contributor to the situation, I discontinued the silver. Didn't make any difference in the appearance of my nails, but for the first time in years, I again caught colds and experienced the flu. Great!

So, I may go back to that - didn't really think there was a connection anyway. Sorry this is so long, but am just fascinated that someone else has this experience.
