Herpes Remedies Not Working; Needs Help

Posted By Anna (Phoenix, AZ) on 09/04/2008

I read all postings here concerning remedies for herpes (genital). Mine appear on my buttock or around/outside of the genital area. I believe (am not sure) I had them for about 13 years. I'm not sure because my outbreak was very rare and when I finally was able to get to see the doctor, it was gone. My outbreak was once or twice a year and very light. Sometimes I felt the tingling sensation and little red spot would appear but the next day or two days later it would be gone. I'm not sure why blood tests were not done on me to diagnose me, but I was told I need to see the doc when I have an outbreak.

I was in long term relationships and no one ever got anything from me. Few months ago, I started dating this guy and after one month I had a break out on my buttock, I obstained and waited until it goes away, then as it went away from one area a new blister appear in another, so I decided to go to my naturopath who gave me a topical from Wise Women Herbals. Since that outbreak, I have been getting them once every couple of weeks or one a month...I never had such outbreaks before or so extensive and painful....My question is, even though the outbreaks I was having in prior years seem to have been herpes were no were in comparison to what is going on now, could the guy I was dating have herpes and caused me to have more severe outbreaks?

I also, tried apple cider vinegar- did not help; melissa herb- pure-I used it in combination with my licorice lysine topical from Wise Women's Herbals; have been taking lysine. My doctor recommended 1 a day as a supplements, 4-5 when I feel an outbreak coming; I crushed Lysine and put it topically. I changed my diet and have a list of foods I should eat that have more lysine v. arginine....Nothing has helped me!!!

Now, I have the biggest most painful ever on my buttock!!! I read about Herpaflor- a natural remedy- has anyone used it? Any opinions or other recommendations?

Hello Anna, Most all reference books on Herpes Simplex, Type 2 says the first occurrence of it is the most painful, so I'm concerned that you may have something different. I think you need to see someone, doctor or nurse practitioner, to determine what you do have. In your initial outbreak, did you have many lesions that were very painful, or did they just maybe sting a little when you urinated? If this matches what you had, did you have lymph nodes in your groins (one of both) sides? If yes, and you don't have the money to see a private practitioner, go to your local health department and ask them to draw blood to test you for syphilis and LGV. This will probably require 3 red top tubes of blood for them to run an RPR and complement fixation for LGV. If you have either of the above, you definitely need to be treated for it.
