Herniated disk remedies needed asap

Posted By April (Bonney Lake, WA) on 12/15/2008

Since herniating my low back on the job about a decade ago, I have experienced chronic pain, massive weight gain (130 lbs), depression, hair loss, and an overwhelming feeling of CHRONIC fatigue. No matter how many hours of sleep I get, when I wake up I feel like I have been repeatedly mowed over by a large truck. Name the supplement, I probably have it sitting on my kitchen counter; I've developed a "taste aversion" to any nutritional supplement. Swallowing vitamins can make me gag, even though I know they could possibly help.

As of today, I have had my second MRI and my condition is worsening. My disc is almost non-existent, herniated out both sides at L4-5. My other herniated disc, S1, is almost as bad. Extreme arthritis and disc degeneration is present. My ortho wants to give me nerve shots of steriods of some sort, under x-ray procedure, then perform surgery. Five years ago I had a microdiscectomy that relieved some of the leg pain. I've just come off of a week of Prednisone, and like clockwork, I've gained 10 more pounds!!!

Along with back pain, I'm also dealing with depression associated with my husband dying of ALS. This has put a double strain on my emotional and physical health.

I'm tired of trying things that do not work. I'm tired of being forced to take painkillers because it's the only form of relief I can get. I'm tired of being short, fat, and balding. Feeling 90 instead of a vibrant 42 is really a sorry state to be in, and at times the feeling of hopelessness is overwhelming. HELP!!!!!

Dear April, If you can afford it try to find a good "naturopath doctor". You can ask at your local health food store or look online. Andi's answer of spinal decompression I have also heard of. Don't know if you looked into it? And I also agree with April from Pleasant Grove that God will definitely show you and guide you to the right treatment. Just ask HIM. HE does hear our prayers. God Bless you April. And may God comfort your heart through all the pain you've endured.
