Help requested for stiffness after stomach virusPosted By Hippityhop (New Jersey) on 02/19/2015
I am having a problem that I am not sure what to do about. I recently had a stomach virus with fever. Now I am still weak and tired, but what concerns me is my limbs, fingers, trunk and whole body feels stiff. I had gone to the local Urgent Care and they tested me for strep and flu, both negative. I also have very loud ringing in my ears. I think if I go back to the doctor they will give me antibiotics, which I am trying to avoid because they wreck havoc on my digestive system...but if it's needed then let it be so. I would greatly appreciate all replies. I've been sick now for almost a week. Thank you.
Follow up ... not sure how to follow up to a post so I'm posting here.... thanks to all who replied...I ended up being hospitalized and now my doc is testing me for addison's disease. I'm not too happy because I have a spinal implant and cortisone is not the best thing for that but that's the regimen so far. Can someone tell me how to follow up to posts so I can give the latest information. I know there has to be a better natural way to deal with this if it is in fact what I have. Thank you so much earth clinic readers!

You could one of a number of natural anti-biotics. Garlic, Extra Virgin Coconut Oil, Colloidal Silver, Oregano Oil etc. These things work for viruses and bacteria (and even fungus).
I don't know if your stomach can handle the Garlic, but if it can, we have successfully used it as an antibiotic. We crush 1 clove of garlic, put it in a spoon and put honey on top. Take this four times a day for at least several days. A week to ten days is better. It is super cheap but not the best for your social life. You will smell strongly of garlic! :)
We use Extra Virgin Coconut Oil, 1 Tablespoon, three times a day for viruses.
I would also take an Epsom Salt bath each evening. 1 cup of Epsom Salt in a warm (whatever is comfortable to you) for at least 20 minutes.
You could do a bath each morning with a cup of baking soda.
You might also want to try colloidal silver or hydrogen peroxide in your ears a couple of times a day.
I hope you feel better soon and can avoid another trip to Urgent Care.

As Momma to Many suggests, the Epsom salt baths and/or baking soda baths would be an excellent way to detox.
Also, since you had a stomach virus, some kefir will probably help your stomach environment so you can begin making some fresh vegetable and fruit juice several times daily.

I hope you are already feeling better by the time you are reading this. It it sounds to me like you may either be dehydrated, or low on electrolytes. Sea salt, water, and/or sports drinks that say they have electrolytes may be in order if you have been having a fever, throwing up, or loose stools...as this would greatly dehydrate you.
The general formula is to take half of your body weight in ounces, and that is what you should drink per day in clear, healthy fluids. When you are sick, you need MUCH more. There is a lot of good info online re hydration for the body, and the disease process. Good luck.
