Help Needed for Very Dry, Congested Nose

Posted By Emily (Toronto, On, Canada) on 03/29/2012

Hello, I was browsing through the site and clicked on "congestion, " but did not find information on my unique ailment. Instead of a wet congestion, full of mucus, I have a dry stuffy nose that has lasted a month. I got sick, but the rest of my symptoms (fever, coughing, sore throat, productive nasal congestion) all disappeared a month ago. Now, I have a completely mucus-free congestion and I really cannot breathe/smell. I tried neti pot, saline sprays and sesame oil, but they did not help. I think dry, stuffy nose should be included in the list of ailments, so others with this condition could benefit as well. Also, if you have any suggestions for me, please let me know as well, as I am having difficulty breathing - it would be much appreciated! Thanks!

Hi, I'm not sure what is wrong, but you might try a nose spray with xylitol and grapefruit seed. Xclear brand sells it and it works great for me. It is an antifungal and antibacterial. Get online or in health food store.

First off, it is hard to treat sinus infection when you do not know the cause, What is in the sinuses it is producing is it fungus, strep, ecoli etc? So first thing get a nasal smear from your dr then you know what your dealing with do NOT just let them give you something without knowing what it is. You could take a very small clove slice it really thin get a cotton ball tear off a small piece wrap the garlic inside of it and place it right at the entrance of the nose and leave it there for two to three hours Drinking 2 Tablespoons of apple cider vinegar on empty stomach four times a day morning after lunch mid day and bed time.

Garlic sliced in small pieces release the power of garlic it will literally radiates within 7 inches of where it is place so from the entrance of the nose it can literally kill what is in the sinus cavity, but you MUST wrap in cotton or it will burn your nose. I would repeat this for 1 week or longer depending on the type of infection.

Eat oranges. You will feel, within a few hours, that the nose will become moist again. A steam humidifier also helps.
