Help Needed for Red Skin

Posted By Leanne (Australia) on 01/02/2017

I wonder if someone can help my husband with his problem. He seems to have constant red skin on his face. He has seen a skin specialist and he said that instead of the blood vessels opening and closing, they seem to be staying open constantly giving his face a red appearance, especially on his cheeks which have broken capillaries. People comment on his redness, he gets very self conscience of how he looks. He has tried a few different things which haven't worked, I was hoping that maybe he could help it from within with food or supplement as topical remedies don't really seem to help even putting a cold pack on his face doesn't help. Would laser treatment help? He is 52 yrs old.

Leanne, I knew someone with that condition. For a totally unrelated reason, they cut way back on gluten, sugar and dairy, and the face got back its regular color.

Hello Leanne,

The prevailing wisdom on this site is to treat your Husband's problem with Genuine, New Zealand Manuka Honey from New Zealand!! That will hopefully do the trick if this condition is Rosacea, in which some blood vessels in the nose, cheeks and (more typically) the forehead and over the bridge of the nose, enlarge, producing this embarrassing redness effect. May I suggest he smears a very thin layer of this honey (It really should be Manuka, as it is thought to have additional medicinal properties over and above ordinary honey believe it or not), just prior to retiring for the night. He might want to cover the pillow, as the honey can be a bit messy. If this works it could be so simple and cheaper with no side effects! What more could you ask for? It might take a while to cure this condition though, as rather pesky mites are thought to be the culprits and we have to ZAP them, though you probably didn't want to know that one right! ?!! Please give feedback as others will want to know about this too.

Good luck. Cheers, Michael

Hi Leanne,

I have had this same problem in the past which I was told was rosacea. I had good luck using essiac tea. I bought the liquid concentrate and took it with a little water on an empty stomach twice each day, as directed on the bottle, until gone. I took a few weeks break, then used one more bottle. The rosacea went away for years, but unfortunately came back again. Once again I used the essiac tea and it went away. I hope it works for your husband, too!
