Head injury caused chronic migraines and dizziness

Posted By Phughes (London, London, Uk) on 02/10/2012

Hi there - not sure which ailment this one will go into but hope someone can help. A neurologist recently diagnosed my migraine and dizzy symptoms as a result of a head injury I sustained in August last year. The bang on the head has triggered the migraines I experienced as a young adult and which I grew out of about five years ago. His recommendation to rid me of the dizziness is to be on beta blockers for at least 2-3 months. I'm not massively keen on prescription drugs. Can anyone recommend an alternative to 'reset' my overactive brain in the issue of balance? Effectively that is what the neurologist said the pills would do. Thanks in advance.

Hi Phughes, I suggest you look into the use of Hyaluronic Acid to recover from concussion, whether or not you had one. There is extensive information on Earthclinic about this supplement, but I would look it up on the web also, specifically for treatment of concussion and other impact-related head injuries.

Stay well,

Linda :-)

Phughes, after suffering from headaches associated w/ chronic infections and w/ nothing helping to ease, I began using Magnet Therapy on my head as I had been having good results on other body parts. I simply used one of those thin refrigerator magnets w/ some results. I later upped to stronger magnets w/ very good results. I currently do about 30 min therapy at least once wk, headache or no, as a preventive measure.

Magnets have powerful anti-inflammatory and healing power by reducing bad energy and increasing good energy. *Always use the same pole that adheres to metal on the body.

Hope this helps and good luck.

Hello both, Thank you very much for your help. I haven't heard of either suggestions you have made so will spend some time doing research.

If anyone has additional ideas that would be much appreciated. Very glad I have found this website.

Thanks

My son had major head trauma and had to have 1 surgery to open skull for the swelling and bleeding to have somewhere to go, then 1, 2 months later for reconstructive. He had migraines and some short term memory problems (tell him something and within 5 min. He might remember). He went to the mall and bought some really good sunglasses as his eyes are sensitive to the sun. Not knowing that most of his headaches was due to light sensitivity. Headaches are alot better, memory thing comes and goes and is few and far between. ( some I think is selective). God is Great. Maybe this will help somewhat and not be anything more serious than this.
