The doctor prescribed flucillin/flucloxacill 500mg along with ponstan forte/mefenamic acid 500mg which I had been taking for the past 10 days. She has said that it sounds like a duct inflammation problem, but I have very bad burning/pain in the nipple also. I did get some relief from the meds but to the honest the pain is still there especially when the cold hits it and at times there seems to be some itchiness on the nipple. She has prescribed some new meds today but I am not hopeful, and she said if it didn't work I would have to head back to the breast clinic. I am desperate. I went to the Natural Food shop today and bought some ACV but am unsure of how much to take or when to take. I also bought some BSM just in case. Any chance Bill or Ted or an expert in the breast area might be able to help me. Thanks

Swedish Bitter as a compress will fix your problem. Keep it for 2-3 hours and repeat after a few hours. To avoid skin irritation apply a Calendula ointment after removing the compress.Replied by Cathy (Smithfield, Ri) on 10/19/2012
Mary, I do get breast infections periodically - very similar to when I nursed my babies. I've only treated them with castor oil (topically) and a heating pad several times per day. The last episode lasted about a week. Hope this is helpful to you.Replied by Mary (Europe) on 10/20/2012
Hi Mt from Ottawa, Thanks for your Reply. I live quite rurally here and so I have no idea where I would get Swedish Bitter locally and would be hesitant about buying a breast product over the internet. I will have a look around though. I did take some ACV vinegar yesterday but today the pain actually seems to be quite different - more like stabbing pains in the breast when I move my arm. I don't know if this is down to a change in meds or if this could be the ACV that I started taking yesterday. I would be very interested in knowing if ACV could actually make something like this worse. Although I did get a clear mammogram I now see that certain conditions including duct problems don't actually show up on mammograms and so I am now quite concerned. I am in my early thirties and in all my years I have never had a breast infection/inflammation so I am in no doubt that the mammogram is somehow responsible for affecting my breast tissue to a certain extent. I have never breastfed a baby as I have never been pregnant so I have nothing to compare it to. Thanks again for your reply and I will get back to you if I come across the ointment that you mentioned.Replied by Mary (Europe) on 10/20/2012
Hi Cathy. Thanks for your reply. How much castor oil did you use and did you apply it all over the breast area. You also state that you used a heating pad and am wondering how long did you leave after applying the castor oil before using the heating pad.
