Dear Fly Free, Charcoal Poultices are great for an abscess.

I would make up several and change it twice a day and leave one on overnight.
I would also take 1, 000mg of vitamin C an hour, unless diarrhea occurs, then cut back a bit.
A teaspoon of turmeric three times a day would also be helpful. That would be most effective taken in some whole milk with a little bit of pepper.
Please let us know how it goes. You will want to be aggressive with treatment.
