Hair loss from lichen planopilaris

Lichen planopilaris:

Hello, I initially noticed hair shedding about a year ago, and didn't realize what it was. I became concerned, especially since I had just underwent a hair transplant in the frontal region about two years ago and am on Rogaine and Propecia to maintain the rest. To say the least, being diagnosed (after biopsy) a couple months ago with scarring alopecia, it was quite a hit to the old psyche. Not a lot out there from what I read in terms of cure, but it seems that people are trying many things to stop it. I was put on clobetasol and Doxycylene by my derm, but something made my head really become enflamed. Now she wants to put me on steroid shots (already did) in my scalp every 4-6 weeks as well as plaquenil. I guess I have to have an eye exam before they will put me on the plaquenil.

I have also been going to a nutritionist and started eating gluten-free. Haven't really seen any changes yet, but I am praying and believing that this stops. I read the 'death sentences" to the hair from a lot of people, and maybe it's denial, maybe it's my faith, but I really just refuse to believe that. I was already planning on getting another transplant in the back at some point soon, but I know I need to have this condition go away beforehand.

Seems not a lot of guys talking about dealing with this, so I feel like a minority for sure. Not too sure what caused it (they say an inflammatory auto-immune) disorder but that's about it.

Any advice or recommendations are always welcomed that seem to have really worked. Also, I have tried to find support groups, but not a lot out there specifically for the scalp condition.

I guess most guys just go bald, but I don't want to. I like my hair and kinda want to keep it. Been really struggling each day with this and my confidence has definitely taken a hit. Have a lot of other stuff going for me, but this one has gotten me kind of down at times.

Thanks for listening. Greg

Hi, Greg from Arkansas US ---

About colloidal silver. Years ago a kind scientist in the US taught a lot of people about the benefits of making colloidal silver. On the DVD I saw that he had a headful of hair in dark colour. He mentioned that he was bald before but had misted his hair with CS and his hair had regrown even in its original colour. He said that many people have parasites and that was also seconded by another healer - he said the same.

For some hair trouble in those days that were the last to ever to visit a "doctor", I was given a bottle with a liquid which made my head literally spin. That was the last time I trusted a "doctor". It does not have affected my brain, to be grateful for.

Through urine therapy I gained a beautiful head of hair admired by many. It took most over a year, though. Patience is required.

Namaste, Om

Hi Om, thanks for sharing. I want to try the colloidal silver.

I don't have balding or hair loss, but some white hairs (no gray)... I am 34 years old. Curious as to how you used urine therapy for your hair. Did you apply it topically or drink it? Did it make your hair thicker and/ or change it's color? Thank you! Meeya

Hello, Meya --- Internally and externally. I used a washcloth, soaked it with mid stream urine and rubbed my head , washing it out after a while, including face because it makes wonderful skin. It is a skin food. But for vegetarian diet, no drugs, alcohol. My hair became much thicker and shiny.

If you want to reverse hair colour, the best way is to take organic blackstrap molasses. One or two tblsp. per day. Again expect several months to a year or so to do the desired effect. The BSM molasses should be diluted with almost hot water and drink with a straw just to protect the tooth enamel. By doing this, my white hair turned its blond colour at the crown of the head. Because of the high sugar content of BSM, I can't take enough.

Good luck. Namaste, Om

Thanks for the info Om.

I started taking the blackstrap molasses today. Mixed it with coconut milk... yum! I'll give it a year, and even if my hair stays white, I will be glad that I've taken it anyway given all of it's amazing health benefits, minerals, etc.
