Are Grover's Disease Spots on Scalp Common?

Posted By Robin (Wv) on 05/03/2018

i have recently been diagnosed with Grovers Disease. I am 45 year old female and I had one spot and had a biopsy done which confirmed this. but after reading on this disease I think I have had it for a few years now because i'd often get blistery looking spots on my forearms around my elbows in the summer after being in the sun and they would itch like crazy & burn.

My question is I have had several spots pop up in my scalp, is this common? I have been prescribed a steroid cream & lotion but I have also been using Palmers coconut oil lotion which is amazing. The scaring on my arms is horrible and would love to know how to get rid of them of cover them I have even thought about getting tattoos to cover the scars.

My Grover's started on my scalp. I felt like I had bugs in my ears for several weeks before the intense itch began. I have found relief by using peppermint spray/oil on my head and body. Use the steroids as little as I can, but use them about every two days. It helps to keep it at bay. Can't drink whiskey or bourbon ever bc it brings the itch back with a vengeance. Use coconut oil, argan oil too.

Linda,

Several Grover’s disease sufferers on Earth Clinic have cured themselves simply by eating a handful of fresh cilentro (coriander) every day for a week or two. Best wishes!

I tried that but had no positive effect. 😢
