Flea bites all over legs

Posted By Adam (Al, US) on 08/07/2014

Help! I walked over to a neighbors house, they had a litter of kittens in the garage. Now, I have flea bites all over my legs and feet. So itchy! I get blisters from them. I know it's fleas because I killed several. I'm afraid I brought some home, so sprinkled diatomaceous earth around the floors before I left for work. I'm so distracted by this itch! Several have popped the blisters and are now itchy scabs, huge sores. I've put tea tree oil on them, but I really need something better.

Dear Adam,

My family has found that itching from bug bites (mostly ticks where we live) is relieved a lot by taking turmeric. 1 teaspoon 2-3 times a day, internally. You can take 4 capsules for each teaspoon if you prefer. I think it also makes them heal faster.

I find that unpasteurized apple cider vinegar, topically gives relief for quite a while too. If the skin is broken, you may want to dilute it with some water.

Hello, Adam --- just think of the helpless little kitties that are exposed to bearing the torture of fleas that can cause illness and death. Perhaps you could tell your neighbour to help them and their Mom. There are non profit societies that can intervene if possible. They are online or in the phone book. Wish I was there. Meanwhile Mama to Many gave you good advice. Hope it helps.

Namaste, Om
