I have studied this. I understand it can be tested for in a medical clinic. It requires supplementation of b6 and zinc. I think the low zinc doesn't allow the body to produce b vitamins incl. 6. And binds necessary nutrients. But the info suggest that you have these levels monitored (dr) because the supplementation may need to be high doses and your body can get too much zinc.
