If it feels like food is stuck in throat, usually a sip of Coca-cola gets the food to go on down.

A choking sensation is often a symptom of a thyroid disorder. Thyroid nodules or a swollen thyroid can press on the windpipe. Food allergies, most notably gluten and dairy, are often a root cause of thyroid symptoms. You may want to try an elimination diet to see if symptoms improve and check earth clinic thyroid forums.

Wishing you well!

A few years ago I started having problems with the feeling of food getting stuck in my throat after swallowing, it didn't happen every time I ate, and eating more food or drinking something wouldn't fix the original feeling of something stuck. I went to see a doctor who sent me to see a specialist who wanted me to have a barium swallow test which I wasn't keen on as I'd heard the barium drink tasted so bad it made you want to vomit. I usually took a multi B vitamin tablet everyday but hadn't taken it for about 3 months as I'd read you should have a break from taking vitamins all the time. Anyway, whilst putting off going for the barium swallow test I started to take my multi B vitamin again as I'd had a long break from it. Within 3 days of taking the multi B again, my swallowing problem completely disappeared. I googled all the B vitamins in it and found an article about swallowing difficulties presenting as a B12 vitamin deficiency. A few months later I experimented by stopping taking the multi B vitamin and after a few weeks the swallowing problems started up again, I then just took a B12 vitamin and after a couple days the swallowing problem again completely disappeared. So try a B12 vitamin supplement for swallowing problems.

This happens to me with mast cells activation disorder, which is severe allergy to something that is triggering the mast cells to produce histamine. I take a mast cell stabilizer called PEA but Quercetin is another stabilizer that may take the swelling down. You may need to look at food allergies to see what's triggering it.
