Feedback needed regarding symptoms inability to gain weight

Hi Everyone~so excited to find this site! I have had chest pain and thick throat issues for over 2 yrs. Have Hashimoto's/Hypothyroid which is slightly out of balance now. I thought my issues were thyroid related ie: heart and throat, they are not. I have had in the back of my mind for 2 yrs. Candida and did research. 6 months ago went mainly gluten free, cut out sugar for most part and cleaned up my diet.

6 weeks ago I got sick with stomach pain, gas, bleching, gurgling and severe throat pain. Lost 5 pounds a yr ago, and now in 3 wks I've lost 10 more and I'm scared and underweight. No insurance, but had to go to hospital with chest/stomach pain, spent the night. All heart test great. Sent home with Acid Reflux, on Carafate, feel pinch better. Put on Xanax (UGH) I take like 5 med's and don't sleep. I'm a mess huh? Finally got upper gi scope and no immediate abnormalitities but did 3 biopsy's get those results in a week. He says no acid reflux. Stomach a pinch better, esphasgus/throat bothersome. Checking into Scerolderma too. My gastro doc is SO worried about my weight n wants me to eat anything and everything.

I see a holistic doc too and he says no sugar, milk, dairy, go super bland diet. Well I'm not gaining a pound. I do protein shakes. Gasto doc says no vitamins/herbs just food for now. The food makes me sick so often. If I follow an acid and candida type diet I am gaining NO weight and feel weak. That little voice has told me I could have major yeast issues so I find out a stool test this friday. Plus an adernal test. Spending thousands with no ins. My family is so upset and worried and just wants me to eat.

Then lastly the doc put me on generic diflucan and I do not feel well. Thyroid ultrasound good too. What a mess and I'm just throwing this out there for anyone who has similar issues. My immediate concern is weight, but I just feel that the yeast my be significant and so many doc's don't believe. Any feedback is appreicate. I wish you all health and happiness. JS

Hi; JS; I have hyperthyroidism, I take 100mg's of lavoxil also I have many uti's and toxoplasmosis; where Dr's. have given me way too many antibiotics which in turn agrivates it and makes it worse. I have done many researches on the web like webmed.com but I now find this is a 100% accurate website(EarthClinic), webmeds are for more conventional meds. Which I do not need where it causes more uti's even though I do have ins. I just run around in circles, the money for Dr's. are in the surgerys not in curing you. I'm sorry to be so blunt but I experienced a not so needed surgery that only compromised my immune system further. I was given so many antibiotics during surgery that my immune system is resistant to any or most antibiotics.

This website is the heart of hearts, it has many pages of info. For you to read/search and decide what you feel you will need, you may find a story just like yours in here with many remedies. Remember everything is trial and error. I found the much needed help with in this forum and the support I love. Without this site I would given up hope. So I hope you follow this site it's great. Good luck. Please remember what works for others may not work for you, but keep trying. ;o)

Thank you for your kind words! I am thankful to have found this site and for the kind people that participate. I know I have a long road ahead of me and a family that thinks Doctors know all. I'll do my research and go from there! Thanks again! Never thought I'd say this, but I'm praying for pounds!!!

"6 months ago went mainly gluten free" --- You cannot go "mainly" gluten-free. It is all or nothing. As you have Hashimoto's, you really should be 100% gluten-free, absolutely no gluten whatsoever. This may also help with some of the problems you are experiencing. Check out Dr. Datis Kharrazian's thyroid book; it has excellent information on autoimmune thyroid disease.

It sounds like an infection.... Even if nothing shows. See if this makes a difference: a teaspoon or two of tumeric or licorice root several times a day that follow 3 or 4 capsules of cayenne pepper... It may feel hot in the stomach, but not uncomfortable like heartburn.... Also try chewing on about a 1/4 teaspoon of celery seed. This will taste bad, but its the fastest route to relieve gas and nausea that I'm aware of... Finally on diet, I know this is contrary to what everyone is saying but I deal with this kind of issue regularly where I live, at one point I was deathly ill and had to gain 35lbs to be at a minimal weight. Eat meat and berries, and if you can tolerate it, full cream raw milk (this helps and medicates the intestines with a passive immune system).. Brothy soup is also fine if its predominately meat.... This is a non bulky diet albiet high in calories... Other foods to add to the diet would be guava, coconut oil and liver, chicken liver being the easiest on the palette. This diet will not make you gain weight as much as it will extinguish the problems causing your wasting. Within one day you should feel better. If its the bacteria that I believe it is, prilosec is legitimately helpful as well in the recovery. Truth carries no agenda.
