77 Year Old Father Has Shortness of Breath Since Covid - Need Urgent Help

Posted By Jeannie (ID) on 11/08/2021

We started noticing that my dad was getting shortness of breath about the same time every night. We started him on the HP mist like Bill's recipe said but it was burning his throat so we purchased a nebulizer and that is working fine but then I noticed people saying do not buy the brown bottles due to stabilizers being added so we stopped the nebulizer treatment for a day to wait for the HP without stabilizers and he seemed to decline.

Last night he could not take a deep breath for at least an hour we ended up taking him to emergency, and they refused to give him oxygen. They said his Blood pressure was good, blood sugar was good, oxygen was reading within range. They took a chest xray and a CT scan of his chest and abdomen. He was told that he has covid scar tissue and so we are wondering if this is correct?

One thing my husband shared is that back years ago when he had an abscessed tooth, he was gargling for days with HP because it would relieve him and when he got to the dentist, the dentist told him he had scar tissue around the tooth and he could not pull it until he knew what the scar tissue was from. My husband told him how much HP he was gargling with the past week and the dentist said OH OK stop gargling with HP and come back in 3 days. After 3 days the dentist told him the scar tissue was gone. My point is could the doctor be wrong? Could he be seeing maybe some burning of the tissues not scarring?

Another thing I noticed is my dad takes a 24 hour insulin at the same time every single night around 7:30PM and about 2 hours later, he starts complaining of shortness of breath. Can the insulin cause inflammation?

Thinking that is the cause because after nebulizing with HP during the day every 2-4 hours, he does not have this problem it is only at night. We are using 1 part HP 3 parts purified water. Should we be using saline?

Thank you so much for any and all help. I'm trying to save my 77 year old father. Much love everyone.

Hi Jeannie (ID) –

Perhaps using just water with the hydrogen peroxide is too harsh for your father.

In the link to “Spirit of Change” below, under the section “Nebulized Peroxide Basics” (about half way down the page), Dr. Mercola gives you the formula for nebulizing.

He also tells you how to make your own saline solution.

In addition to all of the things you are doing, you might want to run a cool mist ultrasonic humidifier with distilled water and hydrogen peroxide 24/7. I find I breathe easier with it running – especially now that windows are usually closed due to the cold weather.

My humidifier holds 1 gallon of water (I use distilled). I add 1-1/2 cups of 3% hydrogen peroxide to it then fill the remainder with distilled water.

Here are a couple of links that you might find helpful.

Also, you might want to get a pulse oximeter (they are quite cheap) to put on your dad's finger to monitor his oxygen level and pulse.

Here’s an example of one from Amazon.com (I bought a similar one at a local drugstore).

The link below to "Very Well Health" has some general information about lung health. Perhaps you can check with a local pulmonary/respiratory therapist to see what other at-home options are available.

I know this is very hard on you and your family but you are making a huge difference in your father’s recovery.

Best of luck - take care,

Tessa
