Facial Skin Badly Irritated and Inflamed - Histamine Intolerance Suspected

Posted By Barb (New Haven, Ct) on 01/18/2016

Hello to all Earth Clinic readers.

I have been trying to correct my horribly irritated and inflamed face. I am 63 years old and past menopause, live in a moderate to cold climate and have always had combination skin but never this bad. I read one post about Histamine Intolerance and eczema and rosacea seem to be connected to this. My skin is extremely sensitive to creams and even to very natural oils. I do put coconut oil on my skin everywhere but my face. I am working with a naturopathic skin doctor who is giving me supplements to rid me of Candida and a cell food gel with aloe. What seems to calm it is an antihistamine gel but temporarily. I would appreciated any help you can give me in remedies. I have read that vinegar of any kind is high in histamine and should be avoided. Please let me know what works and how to make the most of Histamine Intolerant diet.

My skin was breaking out and inflammed... they thought maybe roseaca? I made a list of alllll the things different people used on EC... esp the ones that spoke to me. What calmed down everything was taking MSM (3000mg a day) and also using a sulphur gel on the area but first wiping with peroxide. If I don't do all these things I start breaking out again.
