Extremely Sensitive to Mites, Please Help

Posted By Laurie (Santa Rosa, Ca) on 07/23/2018

Hi Ted....well over a year ago I moved onto an organic farm where I lived in an old trailer and helped in the produce stand. It was a wonderful place until one night late I discovered four moving pod-like things that had stuff coming out of them. I sucked them up in a vacuum but became a bit jumpy, especially when I began feeling things on me but couldn't see anything aside from an occasional shiny thing. I ended up moving and along with a a few other very upsetting events in my life and this “no see” insect that only seemed to come out at night, I had a nervous breakdown and accused of taking copious amounts of drugs by my family! It was horrible but once away from the farm, my feeling of late night crawlers disappeared.

I moved back to CA and about three months brought a few stored items home that I had on the farm not thinking of possible decontamination. I also brought petrified wood home to make a planter and when I sanded it, I felt an immediate attack of “something” on my body! Whatever it was, it attacked all open wounds on my hands and I ended up being placed on 3 different antibiotics. I said nothing of the “attack” to the doctors for fear of being frowned upon. I have whatever it is in my car and clothes and on my body, my feet and hands seem to be the worse. I have been perplexed as to why the ends of my toes had such thick callouses on them and that I could cut them off deep and not feel anything. I believe this is a mite or something! Same thing on my fingers! What gave me the courage to start researching this again to get a final answer is because a week ago I had a tattoo done and the man who did it looked at my previous infected fingers and asked if I was contagious!

It's been a week since having it done and the black has gone from dark to a tattoo that looks 10 + years old...very faded! I felt crawling where the tattoo was and after tonite's bath, my wrist feels much better! This is a nightmare! I read about the Borax/Peroxide absolution and tonite (bath 4) I felt something icky in the bath and saw a milky film that had little squiggly shapes floating in large clumps (these shapes I have observed for some time on my hands) and also little bubbles with black dots....totally grossed out!

I have been convinced that my father's apt has had something in the furniture and rugs but he is not bothered by it and thinks it's my mental instability. I recently moved in with a friend whose condo is so cluttered and dusty. She has a dog that urinates and defecates on the carpet and no Clorox or disinfectant is used. I slept on the couch only to wake at night knowing things were crawling on me. She recently moved everything out, I vacuumed couches and the air was thick with something and my body alive. I noticed on the outside of not only her condo but also others that the buildings are plagued with these pods that I first discovered in my trailer. Her home is surrounded by Magnolia Trees.

I am going to the doctor tomorrow and should have gone sooner. I have used tape to get anything that moves off my body and that includes my rectum! Just horrible! Do u have any idea what this could be! I am not nuts as everyone wants me to believe! I simply can't live this way any longer.

It baffles me why my friend or my dad isn't bothered by this! Diet? I also started taking garlic and activated charcoal!!! Please help! Thank you.

Hi Laurie, Ted had a stroke a few years ago and unfortunately cannot answer you but hopefully more EC readers will chime in.

No, you are definitely not crazy.  We've received thousands of posts on Earth Clinic over the years about mites and they do drive people nutty. I think some people can feel mites more than others, myself being one of them. This past weekend, for example, I volunteered at a charity and we worked in an old apartment that was newly painted and updated but was rather dirty from the construction and hadn't been cleaned very well prior to the new tenant moving in. About a minute after entering, I immediately felt biting sensations on my arms (had bare arms, was wearing a tank top) and for the rest of the afternoon I was there. Not a lot, just a few here biting sensations here and there, but enough to make me scratch. It went away after I got home, showered and washed my hair, but I've had this experience in various places, mostly old hotel rooms, a few times over the years and trust it, even if no else can feel them. In 2017, I spent the night in a relatively nice hotel in Palm Springs and had the itches all night long. Couldn't wait to get out of there in the morning, I was SO creeped out. I think it took a day or two to feel less itchy after I got back home. Made sure to spray down my luggage and put it out in the hot sun for a couple of days after that hotel visit, uggh.

I have always suspected that I am sensitive to mites that dwell in places where there was previous cigarette smoking. Maybe it's the same for you. At any rate, hot shower when you get home, look at all the posts with remedies on this site for scabies and mites, try Ted's borax and peroxide mange/rosacea/scabies treatment, and you might also want to look at some immune-building herbs or supplements. I take MyCommunity Immune Support formula (medicinal mushrooms) at times. Best of luck. I know you can beat it!

Laurie,

I agree totally with Deirdre and you, some of us are very sensitive.

The simplest way I have found to control them, is Ted's borax remedy in a sprayer. There are 8,16 and 32oz sizes. The smaller one ideal for a purse, the larger for maybe luggage or backpack.

Since it sounds like you are in transition in your home, carrying some borax powder in a ziploc for remaking. Travel peroxide bottle.

In my case, it would be my priority.

The most freeing thing is to not expect anyone to believe you. Drs, family, friends. You know the real truth. I have the same issues with this and chemical sensitivity.

Within the ultra sensitives, we are unique not crazy. Just go about doing your thing without explanation.

When they leave you to sleep, spray your bedding, carry a sheet and pillowcases with you, packed in your bag maybe. Detoxify, pack in plastic when no one is around. It is extra to do but well worth it. Spray your underwear, shoes, hair. In your situation, it would give you control of the 6 foot area around you anyway.

I am the only person affected by this in my house. I have many mercury fillings, they do not.

One thing that seems to help is sulfur in the form of MSM. I could never take it, until I got off gluten. It felt like I could not breathe. Once off that toxic food, I had no problem with it.

I took about 500mg several times a day. Maybe once you get settled you will really see some improvement. Killing them permanently.

To treat my house I sprayed. Everything, they reside in ceilings, dark unused areas. I know the life cycle is in EC somewhere, 1x a week for 3 months. That is not what is published here, it was what I found worked.

I always used the borax baths to stop them. I make 3,1 liter water bottles with the borax and water and 1% hydrogen peroxide. I is the wash, then 2 rinses, leaving the solution on. Or spray into washed hair and air dry.

I wash all clothes and bedding in Borax and Epsom. I do not let them go through the rinse cycle. I stop washer after 1st spin. Into the dryer, no detergent or softener.

Really dirty things I wash, add borax to the last rinse. I just try to think ahead. Every hotel gets sprayed, I just assume everyone else is blind to this, gave up on explanations.

Car rentals, just like having mold illness. People do not know.

Janet
