Extreme Weight loss After Colostomy and Fractures in Elderly Mother

Posted By Amy (Greenwich) on 07/18/2016

Hello, I am wondering if anyone can help. My mother, 83, had a colostomy about 3 years ago. She promptly lost 20 pounds. Then a year ago she fell and fractured her pelvis and while recovering, lost another 15 pounds. She recently had another fall and broke her arm in 3 places. And she's now down to 108 pounds at 5'8. She lives alone (though people check on her regularly) and eats very healthily and takes a lot of supplements which she carefully researches. A standard meal would be a meat protein such as organic chicken or lamb chops and vegetables. She says she's eats double what she used to eat and is still dropping weight. CT scans on stomach and organs have revealed a hernia. She's began to shun sugar about a year ago after years of having a sweet tooth and no longer eats any cookies or desserts, thereby losing another several hundred calories a day.

Has anyone heard of such extreme weight loss after a colostomy/fractures in someone her age? Any suggestions? Many thanks in advance.

Looks like a strong possibility of parasites & infection or possibly cancer or both as one precludes the other.

To improve digestion immediately take TMG, Digestive Enzymes. Eat much Figs or Fig Bars, and Pineapple.
