Hi im a 20 year old male who has this disease and honestly I am very scared they are doing so many tests but without friends and family I couldn't have done it and thats what will help out the most is there support. I haven't tried the banana's thing yet but it seems every time I eat I feel sick and tired and weak I hope they find a more permanent cure for this disease. I already choked on several things with the hard swallowing factor in this disease and I almost died from it my life is too short to sit around but in order for me to live it I came here to find different rememdies to cure this dang disease and I hope some of your ideas will work because I am tired of getting sick all the time.

Hi Paul, I have suffered from EE and EG for many years, but did not know what is was until the past year. My 23 year old daughter was diagnosed this past year as well with EE.

I'm not sure what treatment you have done, but if you are interested in a non-prescription holistic approach that has helped us, then you may consider this natural whole food and supplement treatment.

We went on a moderate protein, high fat (good fats like coconut oil, real butter, extra virgin olive oil), and low carbohydrate diet using organic meats, oils and vegetables as much as possible. We also took theraputic levels of vitamins and minerals such as Vitamin A, B complex, extra B1 & B3, C, D, E, Calcium Citrate, Magnesium citrate, as well as cod liver oil and fish oil supplements.

Many of these supplements are anti-inflammatory and reduced the inflammation in the esophagus which helped with swallowing. We tried to take as many of these in liquid or powder form as possible. Those we couldn't, we tried to find the smallest capsules possible and/or crushed them and added them to food.

Since we have made these changes, neither of us have had any more choking spells and/or vomiting. I haven't had the stomach pain and severe diahrrea either. It has been about seven months since I have had a choking spell and vomiting. My energy has increased, seasonal allergy attacks have decreased, and my immune system has improved greatly. Other health problems with high blood pressure, low blood sugar, headaches, etc improved significantly as well. Hope this is helpful.

Well wishes, Teresa

If you haven't giving up alcohol completely, I urge you to try. I was diagnosed with a mild case of Eosinophilic Esophagitis. Every couple months, I would have an episode where I was unable to swallow foods and would have to try to regurgitate or have someone give me the heimlich.

Then one day I was making a left hand turn and car trying to run red light tboned me going to 60 mph. I had postconcussion symptoms which left me unable to tolerate any alcohol. After my car accident, I haven't had a single episode of choking on food. Everything else about my diet remained the same so I attribute this solely to the elimination alcohol from my diet. Best of luck.
