Is This More Than Dry Skin on Sole of Feet?

Posted By Dfed (New York) on 12/19/2020

I tried uploading pic but it did not work. I have white, dry and extremely itchy patches on my feet including back of heels. The heels I figure happened because I wear slip-ons often but the bottom of my feet I don't understand. I've filed, soaked, moisturized but they come right back. What can I do? Possibly more than dry skin issue.

Dfed,

I have seen people with what sounds similar to you described and they treated it with regular foot soaks of hydrogen peroxide 1.5% that has borax at the rate of 1 level tablespoon per cup of the 1.5% HP. Standard HP is generally 3%, so you would have to dilute it with an equal amount of distilled water in order to get to 1.5% HP.

Hi, if your feet are itchy, then it's a fungal issue similar to athlete's foot. Soaking won't help. Try an anti fungal OTC with Clotrimazole like Lotrimin. Give it at least a week and you should see results.

I had a similar issue which I wrote about extensively about on EC, except mostly on the top of my foot. Doctor misdiagnosed it as eczema. Once I applied the Clotrimazole every day, itch went away. Clotrimazole has been around for decades... it's very safe.
