Does Anyone Have Information or Experience W/ Fecal Transplant?Posted By Anthony (Philadelphia, Pa) on 02/02/2012
Well, I wanted to know if anyone has ever tried this? If so, how did it go? I would like Ted to comment on this. I have ulcerative colitis and the associated symptoms that go along with colitis and dandruff and keratin issues on my scalp and face. I do believe they are related. Anyways, I'm tired of trying soooo many different supplements and all so I'm giving this a try to get bacteria/yeast back in my system to fight the bad ones I have. I do believe this is my issue. I tried all the probiotics and spent tons of money and it's time to try something new. Please feel free to comment. Thanks!!

We followed the Specidic Carbohydrate Diet for about 4 years with excellent results and were able to reduce his meds by 75%. Then I saw an article about FT as a treatment for C Diff. nd tahought it made perfect logical sense.
We did a lot of online research before trying it ourselves. The recommendation is to use a donor who is closely related to you so that you have both been exposed to the same environmental pathogens and have similar immunities. A member of your household is preferred.
We did the FT for ten days in a row at first, and he saw immediate improvement. Then we did it twice each weekend for six weeks or so. He continually improved. All this while we were still following the SCD. We took a break from the FTs to see how he would do, and decided to give him a "booster" a couple of times over the next couple of months.
Now, a year after the first FT, he is completely off of all medications and eating a normal diet. We still generally adhere to the SCD because it is really a healthy way to eat; but we're no longer rigid about it and he can "cheat" without any flare ups. He seems to be cured!
