Do I Need to Keep Seeing Eye Doctor for Dry Macular Degeneration?

Since there is no cure for dry macular degeneration is it necessary to keep going to the doctor for tests? I don't feel like all those tests they run on your eyes are healthy for your eyes. I know all the supplements I am suppose to take and I check the eye chart regularly.

I hope it's ok to post this link as it is strictly research. There is some evidence that near infrared LED light in the range of 660nm can help heal the eyes of macular degeneration. I have been using an LED array myself for a while and it really seems to help sharpen my vision and heal the eyes.
