Dizziness is becoming unbearable

Posted By Elena (Denver, CO) on 04/10/2015

Dizziness, motion sickness like feeling that is worse at night is becoming unbearable. It is not vertigo. It is like I am drunk, like a rag being pulled from under me for a split second. Meclizin is not helping. I am almost out of my mind when symptoms are severe. They would wake me up at night. Anybody know anything about possible causes? I have been checked by ENT for possible ear related causes. I have been doing all kind of balance exercises even though I don't think I need them. I am gluten free, 108 lb female. Help needed. Thank you

Hi Elena...I think that you are quite heavily deficient in magnesium, so take a high dose of magnesium citrate or magnesium chloride for a while -- 500 mgs twice a day. If this causes loose stools then just cut back the dose. You should also take zinc(25 mgs) and one B50 complex a day as well.

If this cures your dizziness problem then you can perhaps cut back the magnesium dose to only 250 mgs twice a day.

When I quit smoking is when I got this horrible problem that no doctor could solve , like being dizzy , drunk, under water. Shortly after that I became a born again Christian and ALL HELL BROKE LOOSE! Everything that could go wrong was happenning.

Is your experience from a habit change or relationship change or diet change or spiritual change or age transition such as menopause, or medicine or supplement change?

Thank you Bill, I take magnesium - B6 supplement once a day, (500mg magnesium). Not supplementing with zinc or B50 complex. Have to add to see if it will make a difference. I also have weird hives, they are pressure/body heat hives. I could be freezing under covers in 77f room, but where my blanket, or hand or whatever touches my body, I develop rash. So if between by body and whatever touches it no air circulation, it responds with a rash. So it is not the outside temperature, but slightest change in my body temperature causes it. I get red welts from seat belt, bra straps, watches, necklaces or if my hand just rests on my leg. When I exercise I start itching, even in a pool, swimming. Of course it is worse when outside temp.are high.

So the dizziness might be somehow related to hives, but why is it so much worse closer to bed time?
