I have gone the medical route in coping with Meniere's and I have tremendous faith in my Dr. I would advise that you research and go to the top specialist in your area - NYC will allow you many options. There is no telling what your future may hold as there are many variations and subsets of this disease syndrome and it is progressive in nature.
I now have total loss of bilateral vestibular function and have had one vestibular nerve chemically destroyed. In addition, and as an adjunct to the progressive nature of this disease, I now have persistent BPPV. This does not respond to the CRP procedures because the advanced Meniere's has caused damage to the Utricle portion of the semi-circular canals. (This is very complex stuff! )
I am constantly dizzy and while the vertigo is controlled with meds, I am imbalanced all the time. I happened upon this site while researching the issue of body pH and the possible benefits of increasing my body pH - with simple ingestion of Sodium Bicarb - to aid in dissolving the calcium carbonate stones that the damaged Utricles can no longer resorb.
I wish you the very best in obtaining a diagnosis and proper medical and alternative management of your condition. Meniere's is a tough road to walk and I hope that you have a simple form of the disease; a variation that is self-limiting.
Best wishes
