Diagnosed by liver biopsy have sarcoidosis cushings disease steriod withdrawal

I have sarcoidosis diagnosed by liver biopsy 5 years ago. Several months ago I fell and tore the menisicus and rectus femoris and iliotibial tract of my knee. Doctors want to use arthoscopic surgery to reapir knee. Hovever, sarcoidosis appears to be active now.

Currently ESR rate is 53 mm/hr(Reference range is 0-20) and CRP rate is 2.92 mg/dl (reference range is 00.0-0.75), all indiciative of inflammation responses. In order to try to get inflammation under control, doctors had me on 40 mg prednisolone per day, as well as methotextrate 8 tablets..2.5 mg/pill... once a week. (When sarcoidosis was actively previously, methotextrate at 5 pills per week completely took care of symptoms. Use of prednisolone was not needed.,tho I have been off and on prednisolone many, many times thru out the years.)

At Christmas, I went into full blown Cushings Syndrome: buffalo hump, moon face, skin lesions, etc.

I reduced the prednisolone first to 30 mg/day for a week, then 20 mg/day for a week, then 10 mg/day for a week and then 5 mg/day for a week and , finally. 2.5 mg per day for 3 days. Then completely off prednisolone.

The pain was unbeieveable. My hands were so infammed I could not even close them and all joints ached. Doctors said I came off too fast and went into steroid withdrawal. Currently I am on 5 mg prednisolone per day, 50 mg Imuran per day and methotestrate 8 pills one time a week. I hate what prednisolone does to me, both emotionally and the potential immune supression issues. Imuran and Methotextrate also have potentially very scarey side effects.

I have always had weight issues, except as a young woman. I am 60 years old now.I need to take off weight before the surgery.

Can I use DHEA without going right back into Cushings Syndrome again? My cortisol level is currently 12.3 ug/dl and the range is 6.7-22.6 ug/dl. What is the recommended dose for Apha-lipohic acid and pantothenic acid in my case? Liver enzymes are within normal range as WBC count is still low-normal in range. I am feeling very hopeless, both with the weight gain (I weigh 108 kg now.) and the pain.

Is there anything you can advise me that will help?
thanks for your time.
Sincerely,
Virginia

If Sarcoidosis is truly a fungus, healing stones may help. My brother's rheumatoid arthritis has been aided tremendously with stones that contain low doses of natural occurring radiation. It's called radiation hormesis. I can't give a website, but if you google it and scrolldown, you will eventually come to Jay's website on the healing stones.
