Diagnosed and advice needed for hypothyroidism

Posted By Eva (Crowley, Louisiana) on 12/31/2011

I was diagnosed with hypothroidism a few years ago. I have been taking synthroid ever since. I have just been diagnosed with Hashimoto's. I have a 16.9 tsh on 50 mcg and that has now been increased to 75 mcg. I also have a nodule on each side of my thyroid, both very small. I am leery of stopping the medication, but am also considering going on the Paleo diet. Can I do both, continue the meds and still go on the paleo diet which would cut out most of the gluten from my diet? I'm really confused about all of this. Help?!!

Hi Eva, Look up iodine deficiency & hypothyroid & also go to youtube where they show you how to test if you are lacking iodine. This is the only way you willfix your thyroid & hypothyroid can lead to numerous other problems. Synthroid will not solve your problem.
