Daughtter and advice needed on mole removal

Posted By Cheryl (Knoxville, Tennessee) on 08/08/2011

My daughter had a mole removed on the top of her knee by a dermatologist three years ago. It was about the size of a pencil eraser and slightly raised. The Dr.just scraped it off. What remains is a larger spot, reddish and about the size of a AA battery end. Since it's on the top of her knee and visible, friends ask all the time what it is. I was thinking about taking her to a plastic surgeon but hate to go to that expense just to avoid a scar and no guarantees it will work. Anyone have any thought on whether ACV would work on it? I'm assuming there still must be mole roots there and I should scrape and soak ACV on it. I'd love any feedback!

What is ACV ? Please, all posters, define your aconyms when using them. As to mole removal: Moles should be removed by qualified dermatologists. It is not that expensive. Moles can be precancerous tissues, not something to play around with. As to scar removal: Scar tissue is more than skin deep. This is true for permanent scars. The skin deep ones will dissappear with time. I have a lot of scars. I had some surgery to repair the worst one. A hole the size of a silver dollar in my back. The exit wound from a frontal gunshot wound. The rest I live with and there are many. Some large and ugly. I very much understand why any woman would be more concerned about such things and I very much recommend seeing a truly good cosmetic surgeon to do what can be done to remove disturbing scars. See a good, reputable doctor about this and discuss with him or her what can be done about this scar. For her sake: do not rough up the scarred area and apply some home remedy. Again, permanent scars are more than skin deep....Oscar

I have used 35% hydrogen peroxide successfully many times to burn off warts anywhere on the body even on the face. First get Avery hole reinforcements (32203) available in the paper and labels department of any department store. Place one hole reinforcement on the wart to expose only the wart and help protect the healthy skin around it. Then you take a very small round band aid, place a drop of 35% hydrogen peroxide in the center of the band aid, place the band aid on the wart and leave it for at least 2 hours or overnight. You will feel a slight burning sensation (depending on your pain threshold) for the first hour or so, then it will stop burning. Then, remove it, the wart should fall off by itself. If not, you can repeat the same operation a second time. It is effective and cheap.
