Could Baking Soda and Sugar to Balance Ph After Alcoholism, Cause Pain in B

Ted, I have a family member who has abused alcohol for many years now... 15 yrs... Probably a case of beer or more a week... Stopped that 3 months ago then started drinking wine... 2-3 bottles a night (has all the signs and showings of inflammation... Face, stomach, legs, ankles and feet). That person brought to my attention about a week ago, the bottom of their feet had a bruised feeling to them (sometimes that person feels like they are walking on water from the inflammation) and that person has heel (bone) spurs. I suggested that they take baking soda, sugar, with water to balance the ph, for about a couple of days or so (the body was to acidic) just to see if it would subside. That person felt much better (not completely), the foggyness in the morning upon arising out of bed was gone and the bruise sensation on the bottom of their feet felt much better but was still there a little.

Now that person has done this for around 10 days now and has noticed bags (swelling) under the eyes and middle part of the back is hurting really bad and thinks they have a bladder infection (it doesn't hurt to urinate or any signs of blood in the urine, but they feel alot of pressure in the bladder and middle of the back area). Could this have been brought on from the baking soda (1/2 tsp. Baking soda and 1/2 tsp. Sugar in an 8 oz. Water)? Now I'm aware of the damage on the liver and kidneys the alcohol has caused and what that person has put those major organs through, but my qusestion remains the same, Could this have been brought on from the baking soda (1/2 tsp. Baking soda and 1/2 tsp. Sugar in 8 ounces of water)?

2 suggestions: stop ALL alcoholic beverages!!! Your friend is not helping his health one bit by replacing one alcoholic beverage (the beer) with another alcoholic beverage (the wine... And 3 bottles each night??!! Good Lord! )

And, stop all sugar! If you read on this EC site, sugar is basically poison. Bottom line is he needs to completely change his eating AND drinking habits by switching to FRESH veggies and fruits (organic if possible) and free-range meats/fish, etc.

There is plenty of information on this site about getting healthy by cutting out all the NON-healthy food and drink.
