Question About Consuming Peaches That Had Mold

Posted By Diane (Johnston, Rhode Island) on 08/28/2015

We have a peach tree untreated in our yard. Some peaches had spots, most had black spots and dusty mold. I took the least damaged peaches, and put them in a boiling bath for a few minutes having made a cross cut on the bottoms to ease pealing. Then an ice cold plunge for a few minutes. I peeled the skin than puree the fleshy fruit. I then froze the pulp. Could these peaches cause health effects in breathing if eaten after this treatment?
