Boric Acid

I have had BV for ions and I'm 62. I'm at my wits' end. I wonder how some of the posters are getting their pharmacy to do the compound at $30.00 or so. The pharmacy that I've checked said it will run me about $100 and that is too expensive for me. So, would it be cheaper to buy the boric acid and capsules and do them myself? Thanks for the input.
