I am new to this site and find it fascinating. I have always taken supplements and vitamins and have always tried to eat somewhat healthy. I used to be in great shape! I had tons of energy; I could work 40+ hours a week and still had energy to go visit my friends regularly. I am only 33 years old.
Two years ago my health started declining. I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism and began taking medicine, but it didn't, and still doesn't seem to help. I've also been diagnosed with fibromyalgia, degenerative disc disease in my cervical and thoracic spine, and major depressive disorder, to name just a few. I can now only work up to 20 hours a week, but on my days off, all I do is sleep. I sleep 24 hours, almost straight, at least once a week.
I am in constant pain all over my entire body. My skin even hurts. I have tried creams & rubs, muscle relaxers, pain pills, TENS unit, heating pads & ice packs, massage therapy, and physical therapy, but nothing seems to relieve the pain for very long. Please help!!
5-HTP has been known to help not only with depression but also fibromyalgia and other types of pain. Google it. I would also consider iodoral to help with the thyroid. All available online or health food stores.
