Chronic Cough With Wheezing and Lung Congestion

Posted By Alfo (NYC) on 07/03/2024

Since about the past 5-6 months I have been having almost constant itching in my throat/larynx all the way down to my lungs. This resulted in an indescribable urge to cough for relief. When this itching is no longer tolerated my cough develops and can continue for hours. When this happens my lungs begin to wheeze. Any thoughts on how to get rid of the itching and cough/wheezing?

Hello Alfo,

As part of its lifecycle Ascaris migrates up the trachea and could be causing your symptoms. It might worthwhile to treat for ascaris presumptively since it can be difficult to diagnose and stool samples are unreliable.

Some allergies and other parasites can also cause these symptoms.

It would be advisable to get a bronchoscopy to rule out more serious conditions.

Many different types of holistic practitioners use different diagnostic modalities that can possibly be more helpful.

I hope you find a solution soon,

Eric

Alfo, try h2o2 inhalation. Read up on it.

Personally, I just squirt some h2o2 into half a glass of boiling water, and breathe the fumes. I start with a few times a day, then taper down as relief comes.

#1 you have an environmental trigger. Either at home, at work etc. Move to a different place, location, for a couple of weeks to see if it gets better.

#2 Get Chestal pellets by Boiron. It is a homeopathic remedy sold everywhere. IT WORKS.

#3 Read this and get a more specific homeopathic remedy for the type of your symptoms (while taking Chestal)

#4 Get Low Dosage Naltrexone (LDN) prescription and get the remedy. My sister's cough, I swear, was gone overnight when she was visiting me - she took just one dose. Learn what LDN is: LDN research trust site

#5 If all the above fails to cure your symptoms, see a Nambudripad's Allergy Elimination Techniques (NAET) practitioner.

P.S. Make sure it is not Whooping cough. I had it when I was 27 and at that time had no idea what it was (I wished I was dead)

Mix ACV & water- half a cup each. Bring it to a boil under slow heat as you deeply inhale(through nose) the fumes under a cover for at least 5 minutes. Repeat 3 times a day for 2 days. The fumes will trigger a cough. Spit out any phlegm coming out. ACV fumes will kill any virus within the system.

My sister has this kind of cough but she knows the trigger. In today's environment it is very difficult to find what is causing it, but not impossible.

Don't do inhalations and all that jazz yet, other than remedies that would STOP the cough, even if temporary, to give you a much needed relief.

Don't assume it is a bacteria, virus etc. So don't start treatments that might further irritate the lining of your respiratory system.

Can you move to a seaside for a week or two? In fact where do you live? In a city? A country side? Florida? Seattle? Florida for example is oversaturated with pesticides and insecticides... Seattle... mold could be a problem. How often do you spend time exposed to sunlight? So you've got the drill. You need to move to some place that is as pristine as it could possibly be today - seaside, possibly not a hotel for they use tons of cleaning chemicals, Wi-Fi in every room which, believe or not, could be a contributing factor.

They say You Never Get Healthy In A Place Where You Got Sick. Some health problems simply disappear on its own when environment is changed.

This is a list of homeopathic remedies that I have handy, for I get this sort of cough from time to time, actually started getting, and use it: Drosera, Spongia, Belladonna, Symphytum, Ipecacuanha, Conium, Nux Vomica. All in 30c potency. One pellet is enough.

So far I only used Conium:

•It is well indicated to treat cases of dry cough attended with itching and tickling sensation in throat. The cough is almost constant in nature. In most cases needing it the cough worsens from lying down at night. It may also get worse from talking and laughing. Great weakness is complained with above symptoms. Along with cough stitching pain is felt in head and chest. Sometimes mucus is vomited during coughing.

and Chestal by Boiron - this is First Aid for cough.

Mullein tea is effective for treating wheezing. 1 Tablespoon of dried mullein to a cup of boiling water, turn down the heat and let it simmer in a covered pot for 15 minutes. Then just strain out the mullein and drink the tea. Sweeten it if you want.
