Need Help for Cellulitis and Dry Skin

Posted By Stephanie (Long Valley, Nj) on 02/16/2022

Hi Earth Clinic! I have cellulitis on both lower arms. It is hot and very swollen, looks like a reaction to a bee sting, but its from the cellulitis from extreme dryness, and possibly an infection in both arms and hands from the dryness and thin skin.

I am seriously immune-compromised, so I have to wash everything that I bring in the house to make sure there are no virus germs on anything. For example, if I have 30 items from the grocery store, I am washing 30 items. I am constantly washing my hands and lower arms, using dr bronners bar soap, that is what I wash the items with, and sometimes lysol wipes. My skin is so thin and dry from washing, and also I have a bad liver, and Sjogren's (extreme dehydration from the inside, out).

I applied coconut oil to my hands and arms, but it did not help. I took a tsp of coconut oil internally, and 3 fish oil capsules, and 3 turmeric capsules. What else could I take, or apply to kill infection and also heal dryness? I still have to wash items every day, and wash my hands after I bring in mail, groceries, and deliveries. The skin itself, top layer is thin and red and blotchy and has little bumps. The skin under that is very thickened and hard, the lymph and blood is very stagnant.

Thank you!

Goodness, Stephanie, this sounds miserable!

First, what about using rubber gloves for the washing? or medical gloves?

We have used turmeric for cellulitis before. But you may need 4 capsules 4 times a day, with plenty of water.

Can you use some cayenne pepper to help your blood flow better?

Castor oil might be a good option for moisturizing and healing your skin, especially at night.

During the day I have been using jojoba oil as a moisturizer and like that it absorbs in well and doesn't leave the skin greasy.

Dry air will also dry out your skin. Using a vaporizer might help.

Let us know how it goes!

Stephanie,

Just remembered that when my son had a stubborn case of cellulitis it didn’t totally heal until he stayed off sugar and consumed milk kefir. A quality yogurt like Fage might suffice instead of kefir.

Mama to Many,

Thank you, I think the turmeric capsules helped a lot with inflammation. And I put half tsp turmeric in half cup warm coconut/almond milk also, once a day for 4 days. I am using rubber gloves when I can so my skin isn't as dry from washing items.

DRY SKIN ~~ Hi Stephanie ~~

For the past several months, I had dry skin: arms, legs, feet, hands, face. I did not find any satisfactory answers online; I knew I did not have dermatitis. Through more thought & investigation, I had a sense that I was not ingesting enough protein every day for a person of my age group. Recently, I began noticing what I ate and included much more protein. Today, as I look at my skin, there is no more dryness on any of those parts. My skin is smooth and looks much healthier than before. This is not hype for any type of protein, any kind works. This is a suggestion and I know how uncomfortable dry skin is.
